Sweet Home Arkansas Ranch
Where life is sweet...
Shaq'z Got'z My Back

In our little personal paradise, we enjoy our beautiful trails for horse riding, 4-wheeling, hiking, fishing or just quiet picnic lunches.
Great fishing on the lake with kayaking, floating or just hanging at the firepit roasting hotdogs and S'Mores and having drinks.
We enjoy our Lake Pavilion, stage with lighting for shows, including a full kitchen and picnic tables, all built by 4-H Girls.
Our gentle horses are gorgeous & love to give rides to our Family & Friends.

My Grandma, Ma Angie Holder

My beloved Maw Angie was born in Sweet Home, Arkansas.

I had already named my ranch "Sweet Home Arkansas Ranch" when my Dad told me that my Grandma was born in Sweet Home, Arkansas. I had never heard of such a place. That makes the name of my Ranch even more special to me now.

Dad, Craig and I recently went on a mission to find Maw Angie's original birthplace, of 1918, in Sweet Home, Arkansas. What an adventure we had!

I believe we finally found her childhood home. We stood inside & outside of this old rundown house (clearly more than 100 yrs old), hidden behind big old pine trees, weeds, mosquitoes, old bottles & cans.

Dad and I are convinced that we finally found Maw Angie's original home. Low ceilings, small old rooms, very delapidated, yet a feel of a little bitty girl running around on the little wooden floors & tiny small rooms with fallen ceilings and small remnants of lots of history here and there.

We were being eatin' alive by mosquitoes, but Dad and I stood on the little fallen in porch out front, hugged & thought about what Maw Angie would think of us standing there on her porch of 1918.

The outhouse is still there too. Craig was pretty impressed at how well it is still standing. I did not venture into that part of history. The large pine trees and the railroad tracks that she talked about are still out back.

I love listening to Dad talk about the stories about how Maw Angie always talked about those little things in life that many people overlook. Like the pine trees. They really ARE beautiful. And, the front porch to sit and swing on, And the little flower "over there that is finally buddin' out."

We love & miss you Maw Angie.

Our ranch is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. We named it "Sweet Home Arkansas Ranch" for two reasons.

First, we love SWEET people, we love our HOME and we love ARKANSAS. And, our wonderful horses make this a fun RANCH.
Secondly, my beloved Grandma, Ma Angie, was born in the town of Sweet Home, Arkansas. We love & miss her dearly, but know she would be proud that my Ranch is named after her birthplace.
